Google recently announced that Google Discover may soon be introduced to desktop. It has long been speculated that this will be the next Google Now, but it hasn’t made any official announcements as of yet.
This would be quite the big surprise considering the fact that Google Now introduced to mobile devices and through Gmail. Nevertheless, it will definitely be available on desktops and it’ll be a great addition.
Google Discover is a new personal content feed that works across all mobile devices. You can have up to five different news streams coming to your desktop at one time. However, the new commit released by Google Chromium Gerrit may just be the first hint that Discover might be coming to the desktop as well. With so much activity in the field of mobile technology, you could definitely make use of one of these great Windows 10 news apps.
As we all know, Google Chrome is the number one browser used on the web today. It has won several awards including user interface design. However, it doesn’t have all the features that are found in other popular browsers like Firefox or Safari.
When combined with news apps, it will definitely give you the best browsing experience. And with the recent merger with Yahoo!, it’s not a surprise anymore that desktop Google web search is also on the way.
It’s not clear when Google will make this feature available for the desktop, but we can hope to see an official announcement from the autumn. For now, it is still possible for you to use Google news app on your Android phone, but it’s not the same as being able to use it on your desktop computer.
If you do decide to make the switch, you should remember that you still need to sign-in to your Google account in order to access it on your desktop computer. You will also have to download the news apps and install them on your phone.
Some of you may wonder why Google wants to bring this feature to web search. If you really think about it, there are actually a lot of reasons why they would do this. To begin with, Google loves competing against other companies.
That is why they are constantly testing new things to offer on their Google news app. And eventually, we’ll all be able to enjoy this feature on our desktop computers as well.
Since you probably use Google on your phone, this may seem like a really long process, right? Actually, you don’t have to sign in to your Google account to use news apps on your desktop.
The feature is already built-in to the desktop version. All you have to do is enable it, and you’ll immediately see the news results on your desktop screen. And if you’re looking for some up-to-date news, you’ll definitely want to look through the entire list.
In addition to providing up-to-date news, the Google Discover section allows you to browse through news from some of your favorite fields. As an example, if you are a fan of sports, you may find the New York Yankees news feed really interesting.
Aside from the obvious fact that it provides fresh news, it also gives you ratings and other information. That means you may now know whether the Yankees are playing the Texas Rangers or the Colorado Rockies before the game starts.
Although Google has not yet given any word on when this new feature will be made available to everyone, it is not completely out of the question. They have released few experimental versions in the past, and each time they did, the feature worked almost immediately.
It’s possible that they are testing a new version in the background right now. If so, you’ll probably see the feature soon enough on your desktop. I would just be glad to know when it will be available to me so I can get started with it!
